👋🏽
Hi there, I’m Victoria
A UX researcher and designer in Seattle. I find fulfillment working on meaningful projects that do good .
Coupled with work, I’m pursuing my Masters at the University of Washington in Human Centered Design and Engineering where I’m elevating my research skills and understanding of what it means to create accessible, sustainable and equitable products.
In between the chaos, I’m a Lagree Fitness enthusiast, beginner film photographer and amateur modern calligrapher. Always seeking opportunities for collaboration and conversation that spark joy and creativity.
Lead UX Researcher + Designer at Raft
Remote · Apr 2022 — Present
During my first year, I worked with the CEO and Operations Directors to refine and establish Raft’s brand identity where I lead the company’s initial website redesign with print and digital products utilized across the company.
My current project involves working with our government partners, such as the Department of Health and Human Services, to optimize the experience of their data reporting system for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
Other projects involved: workshop design facilitation, semi-structured user-interviews, application design, service design thinking, mentoring and more
On paper, I’ve worked on some complex problems mainly in gov tech
I find a nice challenge in data centric applications and service design thinking
Product Designer at Victoria Designs, LLC
Remote · Jan 2022 — Present
Keeping the creative juices flowing and UI skills sharp, I freelanced at night…at least until I started grad school. My focus was on redesigning and optimizing data-centric applications.
Clients included ValleyIT Solutions and Nousot.
Senior UX/UI Designer + Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton
Washington, DC · Jan 2021 – Mar 2022
Here was where grew as a consultant. Most impactful project included designing and co-facilitating a project’s first design thinking workshop for the Space Force and Air Force that evaluated an application used across different US bases in the world. Forever advocating for the value of UX.
Other projects involved: user testing, focus groups and semi-structured individual interviews.
Lead UX/UI Designer at Novetta (Now Accenture Federal Services)
Washington, DC · Nov 2018 – Jan 2021
Cheesy to say, but here is where I found fulfillment the mission of government work. I was the first UX designer working amongst a sea of developers and project managers supporting 23 advanced analytical applications for the Department of Defense.
Biggest impact is when I worked with the division’s VP, during COVID-19 to produce an application, MedCOP (Medical Common Operating Picture) that secured a multi-million dollar contract and established the company’s first footprints in the army medical community for the Department of Health Management Systems.
Skills included: user flows, wireframes, mockups and rapid prototyping.
Digital Designer at Travel Leaders Network
Washington, DC · Jun 2016 – Nov 2018
This is where I started my career post undergrad. My time here challenged me to work with constraints and limitations that college projects didn’t prepare me for. This place gave me thick skin, growing exponentially as a visual designer under an art director that pushed me and colleagues that encourage me (including my now husband). My biggest win was leading a microsite as part of an advertising campaign that secured a multi-million dollar contract with Royal Caribbean Cruises.
TLN sharpened my eye for details and above all – challenge me to creatively work around the “cannots” and “don’t haves” like in-house developers and access to conduct user testing sessions.
Other clients included Universal Orlando Studios, Celebrity Cruises, AmaWaterways and more.
I believe in constant growth + learning
Even if it means spending investing thousands of dollars in this economy...
